Children in Class 17 have been working hard on their calendar entries. Take a look at their wonderful pictures of Sutton Park:

Well done to all of the children in Mr Brown's class, Class 18, for continually producing spectacular artwork. They have been using different materials and techniques to create art which is linked to other topics in the curriculum including science and history. Here is a selection of their creations this year:
Dr Roy Paget, an international brain specialist and neuroscientist, will be coming back to Birchfield on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th May to work with our year 6 children. Dr Paget has provided wonderful workshops for Birchfield children in the past and we’re delighted that he will once again be visiting us this year.
Dr Paget is a leading authority on Brain Based Learning and the educational and academic achievements of children. All year six children will take part in his exciting Magic Math's Days.
Dr Paget will be holding an assembly on Thursday 10th May and we would like to invite parents to attend. The assembly will start at 9.05 and finish at 9.30am.
If parents are unable to attend the assembly and would still like the opportunity to meet Dr Paget and obtain further details, you are welcome to come into school on Thursday 10th May between 3.30 and 5.30pm.
If you would like more information about Dr Paget and his Magic Math’s Day, you can visit his website: http://www.pagetandpartners.co.uk/
On Thursday 26th April, as part of their Comenius Environmental Project and to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Class 16 planted trees with the RSPB at their Middleton Lakes Nature Reserve. The class planted 62 trees including 2 royal oaks, which were given to us by The Woodland Trust as part of their Jubilee Woods Project.
The children enjoyed their morning planting trees and can now visit the reserve in years to come to watch their trees grow. Here are some pictures of the children hard at work:
