I am delighted to be able to tell you that Birchfield School will be having a new school nurse service starting in November which will mean a school nurse will be on site at school for one and a half days per half term. The school nurse will be delivering a range of services including workshops for parents, workshops for pupils and seeing parents for scheduled parent appointments.
As part of their service, I am very excited to tell you that the nurse will be offering a drop in session every time she is in school, which will run from 8.30-9.30. This will be an opportunity for you to talk to the nurse about any concerns that you have regarding your child. You will not need an appointment to access this service, although you may have to wait to see the nurse as she will see parents on a first come first served basis. The nurse will be called Louise Proudlock for the Autumn Term and will then change to Nurse Grace Prentice for the rest of the year.
The nurse’s first visit will be Thursday 15thNovember and her first drop in session will be from 8.30am-9.30am. As this is the first time we have done this, it would be really helpful if you could let us know if you think you are going to want to access this service on this first visit. Please could you give your name and your child’s name to the office by 3.30pm on Wednesday 7thNovember so we can ensure the nurse has enough time to see everyone who needs her. In order to access the drop in service, you will need to come to the main office to sign in and you will then be taken to the room where the nurse is meeting with parents.
If you have any questions, please do speak to a member of the school Senior Leadership Team.
