Half Term Letter

Dear Birchfield families

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well. The final day of this half term is 12th FebruaryRemote learning will therefore break for half term on 12.02.21 and resume on 22.02.21. I am sure you will join in me in thanking staff across the school who have worked tirelessly to provide the remote learning for Birchfield pupils.

We have received confirmation from the Birmingham Local Authority that they do intend to provide FSM vouchers to cover the half term week. These will be distributed to eligible parents in the usual way.

Based on the current information shared by the Prime Minister, we have been assured that at least two weeks’ notice will be given to schools before reopening. This means that school remote learning provision will continue until at least Monday 8th March. We will obviously keep you updated as the situation evolves and will communicate promptly when reopening plans are confirmed or any subsequent guidance or information is shared.

I want to thank each of you for your support of our staff and the children’s learning over the last half term – it is not an easy situation for any of us to juggle and as parents, we are all doing our best! The children have been fantastic and we are all extremely proud of their resilience and positive attitudes to learning.

On behalf of all of the Birchfield team, I wish you all a restful, safe and healthy half-term.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Z Thewlis
