We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day across the school! The day began with special assemblies where pupils explored the importance of reading and sharing stories.
Throughout the day, children took part in a range of exciting book-themed activities including designing book covers and bookmarks, creating reading identity collages, completing book scavenger hunts and exploring what motivates them to read. Everyone also enjoyed taking part in Drop Everything and Read, giving pupils time to relax and enjoy their favourite books. In the afternoon, some of our older pupils shared their love of reading by visiting younger classes to read stories together, which was a highlight for many children. The day was made even more special with our Best Dressed Book Character, Potato Book Character, and Get Caught Reading competitions, where pupils showed incredible creativity and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see the whole school community come together to celebrate books, imagination and the joy of reading.
